Introducing: Cush

Summer just got a little more comfortable.

This Saturday we release our latest hazy IPA - Cush. Cush is an 8.7% double dry-hopped lactose IPA with Galaxy, El Dorado, and Hallertau Blanc hops. A huge bouquet aroma of citrus and bursting with juice flavors of passion fruit and pineapple with an incredibly soft (or “cushiony”) and creamy mouthfeel. This is one not to miss! A limited amount of six pack cans will be available at the brewery while supplies last.

What: Cush can release
When: Saturday | July 14th | 12p - 10p
Where: The Parlour @ Three Taverns

My first encounter with craft beer was with sweetwater 420 at the end of high school. It became an obsession of trying new beers and learning more about different styles and the brewing bug bit not long after that.

Born and raised in Decatur/Atlanta

Favorite place to eat in Atlanta?
Doggy Dogg or Nuevo Laredo or Homegrown or Thai Chili or We Suki Suki or Fat Matt’s.

The S.O.S. late night, The Porter mid-day on a weekday, Kimball House for date night, Victory anytime.

Desert Island beer?

Behind the 3 | Amy Royale

Amy Royale is who you'll (on most days) see behind the bar in The Parlour serving up 3T brews, beer knowledge, and smiles. Amy is a vital part of the brewery and our tasting room and you can read more about her below in our "Behind the 3" feature, where we highlight instrumental folks of Three Taverns:

How did you first get into craft beer?
I love to learn about new things! About 7 years ago I worked for a British/Scottish themed Pub that had over 60 beer taps. They taught me a lot about the history of beer, beer styles, even proper pouring techniques and soon my fiance and I were hooked on good beer, and the craft beer community. I later worked for a neighborhood craft beer bar and then a big brewery and continued to learn and explore the wonderful world of beer.

What do you like most about your job?
The people! I get to chat with people from all over and from all different backgrounds, and some of them are total beer geeks and some of them didn't really like beer before. My favorite thing to do is help someone discover a new beer style that they would've never tried before, and then they turn out to love it. The free beer is also a pretty sweet perk of the job!

Where were you born/did you grow up?
I was born in Rockford, IL, but when I was young we moved to central Florida to take care of my grandmother. Disney World was practically in my backyard, and was my first high school job. But I moved to Tampa, FL, for college and lived there for several years.

Favorite place to eat in Atlanta?
I love finding new fun places to eat at in Atlanta, but my absolute favorite is Homegrown for breakfast. I always take out-of-towners here. It's fun, different, and that comfy chicken biscuit! Yum!

Favorite place to drink in Atlanta?
My favorite place to drink really depends on my mood. Anywhere I can sit on a patio and sip cocktails is great. For beer, of course the Three Taverns Parlour, but you can't beat The Brick Store Pub or The Porter in L5P either.

Favorite drink besides beer?
I was into scotch/whiskey for a while, but over the past couple years I have really gotten into good tequilas, especially a good mezcal. I love a good classic margarita on the rocks, with fresh lime juice.

Interests/hobbies that are not beer-related?
I have a lot of passions in life and beer is one of them. But I am also a working artist and I love going to art shows and checking out new artists. I am also a big geek, I love Harry Potter and Star Wars. My fiance and I collect vinyl records and love thrifting. I especially love being outdoors and camping (although you couldn't tell that by looking at me). Hiking new trails in north Georgia is one of my favorite things.

Behind the 3 | Josh Miller

Josh Miller is Three Taverns' Lead Brewer and joined the brewery during year one. He is responsible for the creation of several beers including Rowdy and Proud and Strawberry Luxure. Read more about Josh below in our first "Behind the 3" feature, where we highlight instrumental folks of Three Taverns:

How did you first get into craft beer?
A friend got me into craft beer and my brother introduced me to homebrewing pretty soon after I turned 21. I think I was just drawn to craft beer because it had so many options to choose from and wasn't too pretentious at that point so it felt accessible.

What do you like most about your job?
Drinking beer with the crew.

Favorite beer?
Taras Boulba

Where were you born/did you grow up?
Born in Atlanta grew up in Lawrenceville.

Favorite place to eat in Atlanta?
The Optimist or Bon Ton

Favorite place to drink in Atlanta?
Biltong Bar or Gaja

Favorite drink besides beer?
Miller Lite.

Interests/hobbies that are not beer-related?
Watching shitty 80's movies and beating people at ping pong.

Maury Mable's Irish Stout

On St. Patrick’s Day in 1895, Maury Mable first marched through the streets of Decatur in a top hat and tails to honor his native homeland. Maury continued to lead what became an annual parade and Decatur tradition for 50 years until he died. This St. Patrick’s Day, 2018, we honor the memory of “The Pied Piper of Decatur" with the release of Maury Mable’s Irish Stout. Please join us this Saturday at 11a.m. on Hillyer Pl. (across from Fellini’s) where Maury lived, as Irish Mike Gallagher, in top hat and cane, will lead a rabble of us in a march to the Brick Store Pub where we’ll hoist a pint in memory of Ol’ Maury.

Maury Mable's Irish Stout was brewed on our pilot system and only a handful of kegs were produced. It will be pouring for one day only, this Saturday, March 17th, at the following locations:

Three Taverns Brewery
The Marlay House
Brick Store Pub
Leon's Full Service
Mac McGee's
