Title: Spooky Worlds: Haunted Star-Planet Systems Beyond the Solar System
Summary: Around 1995, the first ever planets detected orbiting other star (exoplanet) was around final stage of a star, a Neutron star. Since then, we've found over 6,000 exoplanets, many in systems so bizarre they challenge our understanding of how planets form and survive. In this talk, we'll explore the timeline of exoplanet discoveries, the spooky environments they inhabit, and the clever techniques astronomers use to detect these distant worlds.
