Title: Climbing the Cosmic Distance Ladder

Summary: In astronomy (the field of far-away-things), distances are notoriously difficult to measure. The term “cosmic distance ladder” refers to the various techniques that have been developed over time to determine distances at many different scales. In this talk, I’ll be walking through some of the basic tools that astronomers have used to map out the Universe, from the closest stars to the most distant galaxies.
