ASTRONOMY ON TAP - Scientific Accuracy in Sci-Fi Movies

  • Three Taverns Imaginarium 777 Memorial Drive SE Atlanta, Ga 30317 United States (map)

Speaker: GSU Astrophysics Lecturer Dr. Justin Robinson

Title: Scientific Accuracy in Sci-Fi Movies

Summary: Interstellar, The Martian, 2001: A Space Odyssey, Apollo 13, Wall-E. Gravity, Passengers, and of course, Armageddon. One of those lists of films represents some of the most accurate depictions of space, space travel, and physics to-date. The other list... not so much. Please join us for Part I of our two-part 1 year anniversary celebration of Astronomy on Tap at Three Taverns, where we will discuss the scientific accuracy (and inaccuracy) of some of the most well-known sci-fi movies!
