This Saturday marks the return of the Atlanta Strong Beer Festival and the preview of two new beers coming soon from the brewery, Helm’s Deep and Third Age. Helm’s Deep is a 13% viscous imperial stout aged in an eight-year-old bourbon barrel. It pours black as the darkest night and delivers an intense dark malt complexity with notes of chocolate and vanilla saturated with bourbon and oak. Third Age is an 11% old ale aged in PX sherry barrels and is rich with the aroma and flavor of dark fruit, caramel and the intense complexities of sherry and oak. Both of these beers were just taken out of the barrels and offer some of the most intense sensory experiences yet from Three Taverns.
